For us, the story of the Swedish warship Vasa (Wasa) is a rich metaphor for strategic consulting – or bad leadership. Built in 1626–1628 under King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden, the Vasa was meant to be the crown jewel of the Swedish navy. Fully equipped with 64 cannons, it was a floating symbol: a dream of super power.
However, due to poor design, political pressure, and lack of proper testing, the ship sank just minutes into its maiden voyage — only about 1,300 meters from the dock. A very wet dream.

The cause: unstable design (too top-heavy), insufficient ballast, and an unwillingness to challenge royal directives despite known flaws. Some years ago, we met a CEO with a lot of ideas about digitalization, automation, transformation, sales restructuring, business development and so on. The company was heavily irritated about all the changes and the ongoing ingorance, some smart consultants were making a lot of money. And the CEO had to go.

Let’s make our dreams come true in a realistic way, plan well ahead and look for trusted partners for successful business. I’ve been in top management for about 20 years, made many mistakes, learnt a lot, fixed issues and could celebrate many successes with my teams. Together with my partner, we want to be the dream-team for your business: Marketing strategy, agency selection, workshop facilitation, purpose design etc. What are you ssssssinking about?
